thanks to McClockey's gloriously poetic language and Lord's deft reading. Her

SYNOPSIS:
Robert McCloskey's timeless
paean to a Maine island summer is as fresh today as when it was published in 1957.
Island images abound, the alliteration is brilliant and very obvious when listening
without illustrations to "distract" from the sounds so carefully chosen by the
author. The pace is slow and relaxed, with narrator Tracy Lord pulling every nuance
of sight and sound from the award-winning book.
