SYNOPSIS:
Barbara Cooney's famous tale Miss Rumphius is paired with
her own favorite - Island Boy -in this recording. Miss Rumphius
exhorts the listener to follow her example in life - conciously do somthing to
make the world more beautiful. In Island Boy the full circle of life is
told - young Mathais is born on an island off the coast of Maine, and lives a
good long life of hard work and loving family, altho' it's not without tragedy.
Tracy Lord is a master at interpretation of children's books - her warm, lilting
