Audio Reviews:

"...ideal read-aloud material. Every last drop of drama is wrung from the tale."
                     - A Parents' Choice Approval Award

"This recording is technically excellent - Brown enunciates properly and listeners can follow each word without trouble. This is an acceptable addition for school and public libraries, especially since the title is frequently assigned reading. Suitable for individual, group and family listening."
                     - School Library Journal

"Seen through Tim's eyes, narrated in Brown's appropriately youthful voice, listeners will feel as though they are right there alongside the characters.."
                     - Kliatt

SYNOPSIS:

The Revolutionary War comes alive in this contemporary classic for young adults. The War had no clear-cut loyalties - it divided families, friends and towns. Young Tim Meeker's 16 year old brother go off to fight with the Patriots while his father remains a reluctant British Loyalist in the Tory town of Redding, CT. Over the course of the war Tim learns that life teaches some bitter lessons and does not guarantee clear answers.
