SYNOPSIS:
Think of Willa Cather and think of Nebraska - its
Divide, its plains, its colors and awesome horizon lines. Her stories and novels
embrace life there in the early 1900's as no other author's works have done. These
six stories represent frontier life in Nebraska - its desperation, loneliness
and triumphs. They are a slice of American history and regional fiction that are
often overshadowed by Cather's classic novels such as My Antonia and O
Pioneers (available in unabridged audiobook from Audio Bookshelf.) The audiobook
begins with a thumbnail sketch of the author.
Stories included are: Peter,
On the Divide, The Sculptor's Funeral, The Sentimentality of
William Tavener, A Wagner Matinee, Eric Hermannson's Soul.
